With Hoban’s signature event, Extravaganza, fast approaching, preparations are in full swing. Now less than a month away, more details have been revealed about the highly anticipated evening.
This year’s theme, “Havana Knights,” embraces a 1950s Cuban atmosphere, featuring vibrant colors, tropical décor, and beach-inspired elements.
Coordinator of Advancement Events Michael Marz is optimistic about the theme’s appeal. “I think this theme will strongly appeal to our audience, creating a fun and scenic vibe that everyone can enjoy,” he said.
A Night of Giving
Extravaganza relies on student volunteers to serve as greeters, servers, and coat checkers, ensuring the night runs smoothly and allowing guests to focus on the silent and live auctions.
Attendees will have the chance to bid on trips, exclusive dinners, and house rentals. Following the auctions, donations will be collected for the Bernard Scholarship, a need-based scholarship for Hoban students, with all contributions matched to double the impact.
‘A Knight of Spirits’ Prepares the Way
Ahead of Extravaganza, “A Knight of Spirits” was held on Friday, Feb. 7, drawing a large turnout. The evening featured a wine tasting paired with gourmet appetizers and desserts, providing a chance for Hoban families to socialize while supporting the school.
“We do this to attract a different crowd and raise more money to fund capital improvements,” Marz explained.
Get Involved
Marz encourages students to look out for opportunities to volunteer at the event, calling it a great way to get involved in the Hoban community and contribute to a cause that extends beyond the classroom.
So, Knights, tell your parents to dust off their dancing shoes, grab their polka-dot dresses, and mark their calendars for April 5. Don’t miss out on this Cuban-inspired celebration!
