Many of my friends, including me, have long and stressful days where coming home, watching Netflix and relaxing is the ideal night. And, like myself, many others scroll relentlessly through the many shows Netflix has to offer. Everyday when I turn on my TV, I find myself going to the one show that will never get old. My rock. My backbone. The one thing that can get me through anything: F.R.I.E.N.D.S.

No matter what I’m going through or how bad my day was, that show has never let me down. The differing personalities that each character has mesh perfectly together to create the ideal comedy. I seriously could watch the show for hours. No exaggeration, I think I’ve watched all ten seasons at least eight times. Out of all the 236 episodes, not one has ever let me down.

Here are my favorite episodes I find myself always falling into the arms of:

WHEN YOU REALLY JUST NEED TO CRACK A SMILE:

  1. Season 2: Episode 7 “The One Where Ross Finds Out”
  2. Season 2: Episode 14 “The One with the Prom Video”
  3. Season 5: Episode 14 “The One Where Everybody Finds Out”
  4. Season 7: Episode 11 “The One with all the Cheesecakes”
  5. Season 6: Episode 17 “The One with Unagi”

WHEN YOU’RE IN A SAD MOOD:

  1. Season 5: Episode 3 “The One Hundredth”
  2. Season 9: Episode 21 “The One with the Fertility Test”
  3. Season 3: Episode 13 “The One the Morning After”
  4. Season 10: Episode 17 “The Last One: Part One”
  5. Season 10: Episode 18 “The Last One: Part Two”

WHEN YOU NEED A GOOD LAUGH:

  1. Season 10: Episode 3 “The One with Ross’s Tan”
  2. Season 7: Episode 10 “The One with the Holiday Armadillo”
  3. Season 7: Episode 22 “The One with Chandler’s Dad”
  4. Season 5: Episode 11 “The One with all the Resolutions”
  5. Season 1: Episode 7 “The One with the Blackout”

One of the favorite things about FRIENDS is how unique each character is. Here are all the favorite qualities of each ‘friend’:

Chandler: Chandler’s constant need to crack a joke in between every line is one of the most memorable things about the show. He always can brighten the mood and cause a quick laugh. Although sometimes he doesn’t always pick the right timing to crack a quick joke, he definitely knows how to crack everyone up and lighten the atmosphere.

Monica: Monica’s constant need to people-please and keep everything perfectly clean and compete with others to do so is oddly entertaining. She always has everyone else’s best interest at heart and knows how to comfort the ones who need it the most. What a quality friend she is! No matter what any of her friends are going through, she will help them out and probably make some food to go along with the comforting process.

Rachel: Rachel’s dry, yet appealing humor is quite appealing. She acts out alot based on impulse and is never afraid to speak her mind or defend herself or her friends. Her confidence is admirable, along with her passion and love for what she is doing with her life. Despite coming from a rich and privileged family and getting whatever she desired for a majority of her life, her drive to change her lifestyle and become a better person is exemplary.

Ross: Ross’s passion for what he does in life is genuinely commendable. He always stays adrenalized in his love for science, dinosaurs, space and all the other aspects he adores. His fatherly instincts mesh perfectly into his affectionate personality. And we can’t forget his boustrous and self-reliant personality, and his acknowledgment of his wrong-doings has always been noticeable. When he knows he’s wrong, he will usually admit it. Not with Rachel though, because “they were on a break”.

Phoebe: Out of all six characters, Phoebe has to be my favorite. Her free-spirited, hippie vibe is much like my own. She has never cared what anyone thinks of her. Despite having a terrible past and a horrendous childhood, she still knows how to keep a positive attitude. She is confident and proud in everything she does and knows how to keep her head held up high. She’s attentive to her friends feelings and isn’t shy when it comes to giving the right advice.

Joey: Joey may not be the sharpest pencil in the box, but the amount of love he has is unmeasurable. A lot of the things he says don’t really make sense to most, but it adds to the humorous atmosphere. He cares so much about all his friends and is always putting them first, especially Chandler, and would do anything for them.
