Justin Timberlake: Bringing Sexy Back to the Super Bowl
10-time Grammy award winner Justin Timberlake has officially been announced as the halftime performer in the 52nd Super Bowl to be be held on Feb. 4 in Minneapolis.
Wanting to shatter the stigma of his 2004 appearance with Janet Jackson, Timberlake hopes to deliver an iconic performance. The famous wardrobe malfunction of the 38th Super Bowl in Houston supposedly banned Jackson from performing at the Super Bowl halftime ever again, which the NFL has since denied.
“There’s no ban,” the NFL stated in regard to Janet Jackson. “We are not going to comment on any speculation regarding potential guests.”
After the statement was released, deliberation began over the possible appearance of Jackson at Super Bowl LII, possibly working alongside Justin Timberlake.
As a former member of NSYNC, many believe Timberlake will break out some of his boyband charm with popular songs “Bye Bye Bye” or “It’s Gonna be Me.” Others hope to see “Cry Me a River” performed as a duet with ex-girlfriend Britney Spears.
Following performers like Beyoncé, Coldplay and Lady Gaga, Timberlake is excited to partake in the extravagant tradition yet again.
His last work, “Can’t Stop the Feeling,” released in May of 2016, has sparked debates about the possibility of the Academy-Award-Nominee producing a new album before the Super Bowl.
Regardless of the deliberations, fans “can’t act like it’s a bad thing” that Justin Timberlake will be the halftime entertainment. JT supporters are excited to “rock their bodies” as he “takes back the night” at Super Bowl 52.
