Prince Harry and Meghan Markle: A Match Made in Heaven

The engagement of Prince Harry and Meghan Markle has shaken the media. The 36-year-old bride-to-be is an American actress. So, how exactly did Markle move from Hollywood red carpets to Kensington Palace?

The couple revealed they were set up by a mutual friend, but remained silent on her identity in order to “protect her privacy.” However, her name has finally been revealed. The matchmaker was Violet von Westenholz, a childhood friend of Harry whose father has connections with Prince Charles. She and Markle crossed paths while doing work with Ralph Lauren and the rest is history! Obviously, Westenholz is pretty good at blind dates.

About one month ago, their wedding day was finally announced. The duo will tie the knot in a televised event on May 19, 2018. The ceremony will be held at St. George’s Chapel at Windsor Castle in England.

US Weekly confirmed that Prince Harry asked his brother, Prince William, to be his best man. Prince William and Duchess Kate’s children, Prince George and Princess Charlotte, will also have roles in the royal wedding. Markle’s maid of honor is yet to be released.

“The couple of course want the day to be a special, celebratory moment for their friends and family,” a spokesperson for the couple said. “They also want the day to be shaped so as to allow members of the public to feel part of the celebrations too and are currently working through ideas for how this might be achieved.”

The Prince honored his late mother, Princess Diana, by proposing with a ring that features diamonds from a brooch that belonged to her. Markle is also rumored to be wearing Princess Diana’s tiara on her special day– the same one that she wore to her wedding 37 years ago.

This royal ceremony will be one for the books. Their future titles are still up in the air, but a source confirmed that Duke and Duchess of Sussex will most likely be chosen.
