Knights Swimming Recap

OHSAA Championships Approach

As championship season quickly approaches, the Hoban swim team reflects on a successful run. The first round of championships (Sectionals) will be held Friday, Feb. 9 at the Ocasek Natatorium on the campus of the University of Akron. Division II teams face off in the Akron sectionals, all hopeful for a spot in the district finals.

What to look for? Freshman standout, Grace Wyzinski, broke the long-standing women’s 100 butterfly record and could top that at Ocasek. Junior Michael Heller looks to shatter his own records this year in the 50 and 100 freestyle. The boys’ relay team may break their own records in the 200 and 400 freestyle relays, while sophomore Megan Zaucha stands only three seconds away from the Hoban 500 freestyle record.
